All About Apples – Oct 2016

Many came out to join us for a celebration of Britain’s favourite fruit at this year’s All About Apples day, which was held on Sunday October 16th at Buchan Country Park.

Despite the forecast of rain, we had lots of family friendly activities taking place throughout the day. Along with lots of information about apples, we had fresh apple juice squeezing in the countryside centre, as well as variety of games, quizzes and activities for all to get involved with.

The entries for the ‘how many apples are in the bucket’ quiz can be seen in the images below, with the correct answer being 58, well done to Jane for guessing the closest and winning a box of chocolates!

We also had a lot of interest in our tombola with some excellent prizes being scooped up, and were once again be joined by the fantastic Katealisious cakes who had their scrumptious treats on sale.

As always, a huge thank you to those who made it along and to the volunteers who helped out on the day. All of the money raised goes towards upkeep of the park and putting on future events for all to enjoy.
