Buchan Country Park is 170 acres of Country Park managed by West Sussex County Council for wildlife conservation and quiet recreation. A great place for walking, wildlife watching or a picnic. Part of the Country Park is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) for its range of Dragonfly species and the entirety of the park is a Site of Wildlife Conservation Importance (SNCI). The Country Park has a network of surfaced paths and plenty of benches, picnic tables and wooden sculptures to enjoy.
The Friends of Buchan Country Park is an independent self-funding body who aim to support the work of the Countryside Rangers by promoting the park, its use as a public green space and its wildlife conservation value. This is done through running a range of annual events including the Fun Dog Show, Art in the Park, Easter Egg hunt, All About Apples and Christmas Carols which all raise funds for the park.
Membership is free and the committee is always looking for new members to join, volunteer a few hours help at events and contribute to our meetings. Feel free to view our constitution, find out more about becoming a member, or get in touch if you have any questions.
